We leave Cape Town from Engen One Stop Winelands on Friday morning heading towards Ceres
Our route is a pituresque one via Bainskloof and Ceres to Op-die-Berg where we stop for a refuel.
After our refuel at Op-die-Berg we make our way to Cederberg Oasis. It a beautiful route with stunning scenery as we traverse over the Blinkhuis, Varkkloof and Grootrivier hoogte Pass before reaching Cederber Oasis for a quick break.
After our break we head to the fun part of the route via Esselbank and Wuppertal to our overnight spot at Traveller’ Rest. Its a scenic route with a steep decent on concrete tracks into Wuppertal. All in all it will give you lots to talk about in the bar at Traveller’s Rest.
On Saturday after breakfast we ride a loop of around 300km. The route offers great adventure riding into the beautuful Namakwaland. We ride some off the beaten track routes including Die Hel se pass before we stop for lunch a Bagdad Cafe
On Sunday after breakfast we sadly make our way back to Cape Town. Tour ends at Astron Malmesbury
We stay at Traveller’s Rest a perfect location to celebrate 10 years of tours . Accommodation is in chalets. Bedding and towels are provided and there is a cash bar.
Intermediate skill level – The routes on this bike tour is mostly comfortable with some sections providing a bit more excitement but nothing that an intermediate rider won’t be able to handle. It will be easy to moderate to navigate for the average intermediate rider but will require a bit more experience in certain sections with a pillion.
You must be comfortable riding at an average of 80 KM/H on solid pack dirt roads (dirt highways) and have the ability to handle some loose stuff here and there. Roads in the area are mostly solid pack dirt roads and tracks but depending on traffic and when last it was graded there can be a little loose stuff here and there. Wuppertal to Eselbank road changes all the time and will not be for beginner riders.
