We finish off a good day of riding at another little hidden gems, Spanspek se Plek where we overnight. 

The evening will be festive with lots of laughter and sharing the days riding experiences around the fire.

Canola fields, Napier, great gravel travel, farm stay, campfire, and lots of smiles

Leaving Cape Town on Saturday morning we head towards the Overberg region

We selected a great route exploring the canola fields of the Overberg and surrounds. Zigzagging  through a combination of dirt and farm roads, we give you the best views and experience of being surrounded by breathtaking scenes of canola as we make our way to our place of lodging, Spanspek se Plek.  

Spanspek se Plek, offers beautiful and modern farm-style accommodation on the R60, between Ashton and Swellendam. The venue is perfect for a relaxing weekend with good friends, food, cold ones and lots of laughter.

Sunday after breakfast we make our way back to Cape Town riding a combination of dirt and tar roads.


We stay at Spanspek se Plek, beautiful and modern farm-style accommodation on the R60, between Ashton and Swellendam. Accommodation is in chalets and all bedding is supplied. We supply dinner and breakfast so you can relax and have a great time with us.

Intermediate skill level – The routes on this bike tour is comfortable and will be easy to navigate for the average rider.  You must be comfortable riding at an average of 80 KM/H on solid pack dirt roads and have the ability to handle some loose stuff here and there. Roads in the area are mostly solid pack dirt roads and tracks but depending on traffic and when last it was graded there can be a little loose stuff here and there.
