On Day 1 – We kick off our adventure in Barrydale.

Gather with us on Wednesday around 10:30 as we set off on a breathtaking route that winds along the majestic mountain range, leading us to Wilderness. 

Our route takes us via Gouritzrivier and Herbertsdale riding mostly dirtroads all the way to George. We make our way to the quaint village of Wilderness which will be our first overnight spot. 

We embark on an exhilarating journey as we depart from Willderness along the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains as we make our way to Baviaanskloof.

Brace yourself for a day filled with exhilarating mountain passes and scenic rides beneath enchanting forest canopies in the captivating Knysna Forest. Our route to Baviaankloof will lead us through the mesmerizing Gouna Pass and Kom se Pad, offering you picturesque views at every turn. Along the way, we’ll make a stop at the renowned Angies G-Spot for a refreshing break and a quick bite. 

After our break we head up the Prince Alfred’s Pass and enter Baviaanskloof from the western side. We overnight at the stunning Damsedrif Guestfarm

Day 3 will be an exhilarating adventure, covering a distance of approximately 230km. Although it may seem short, this route will take up most of our day.

Brace yourself for an adrenaline-pumping experience as we conquer numerous mountain passes and navigate through charming river crossings. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any more exciting, we’ll reach Smitsdrift, home to the longest water crossing in all of Baviaans. The thrill of Smitsdrift will undoubtedly get your heart racing!

As we continue our ride, we’ll be treated to breathtaking climbs and descents, surrounded by lush vegetation that creates a truly remarkable scenic backdrop. We arrive in Patensie where we have a quick lunch break

After lunch we make our way via the infamouse Grootrivierpoort and Antoniesberg Pass to Steytlerville. The 90km offer some incredible views and will keep you adrenalin flowing for some great stories in the Royal Hotel bar in Steytlerville. 

The Royal Hotel in Steytlerville will also be our overnight spot. Get ready to be amazed by the beauty that awaits us!

We embark on a breathtaking Karoo adventure as we journey from Steytlerville following the Grootrivier to Willowmore. Its a beautiful ride down the valley with amazing scenery. From Williowmore we make our way to Prince Albert where we stop for lunch.

After lunch we ride up the Swartberg Pass that winds to the summit 1 585 metres above sea level in steep zigzags and sudden switchbacks with breath-taking views at every turn and geological formations that shout, ‘plate tectonics’! We take the turnoff to Gamkaskloof (Die Hel). This has to be one of the most iconic gravel roads in South Africa, holding almost pilgrimage status to gravel-road devotees. It winds through 37km of rugged mountain scenery, culminating in the vertigo-rush, single-width Elands Pass, and terminates in the Gamkaskloof

Gamkaskloof is our overnight spot for our final evening on tour. Dinner will be served in Ouma Sannie se Restuarant. 

 Get ready for a truly unforgettable experience!

After breakfast we ride out of Gamkaskloof and decent the Swartberg Pass with breathtaking views of the Little Karoo. 

Our route takes us along the foot of the mesmerising Swartberg Mountains via Matjierivier and Groenrivier to Calitzdorp. 

After a refuel we say our goodbyes and go our seperate ways. The tour ends

Tour accommodation is in guest lodges, and  farm houses. All bedding is provided by our places of lodging. You need to pack your own toiletries.

Intermediate to Advanced skill level – The route on this bike tour range from comfortable to a little more technical from time to time. Experienced intermediate riders should easily navigate through the route. Experienced riders with experienced pillions will be able to navigate the route. We also have our support vehicle that pillions can get into should a section be uncomfortable

You must be comfortable riding at 80 KM/H on solid pack dirt roads (almost tar like dirt) and have the ability to handle some loose, rocky and technical stuff here and there. We have done this route many a time giving you peace of mind that we know the pitfalls and can assist you to easily navigate through them.
