Meet our specialised team
Grew up in Oudtshoorn with an unprecedented love for the Little Karoo. At school he was called a dreamer and WAVOLT Adventures is one of those dreams. During his working life he became a well-travelled South African who has been to over two hundred places in South Africa. With a passion for adventure and motorcycles, adventure biking was the perfect vehicle to live out his passion. With thorough knowledge of South Africa he also explored Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia Botswana and Angola. WAVOLT was established to share this passion with other people.
Jean and Michael have been friends for 19 years and shared lots of outdoor passions from water-skiing, to river rafting and adventure biking. This makes Jean the perfect backup driver. He is a patient funny person and a Mister fix it. If you break down and have to spend part of your trip in the support vehicle you will laugh your socks off and will soon forget about your breakdown.
One of the benefits of adventure biking is making new friends and that’s how Andre and Michael became friends. Andre is the kind of guy you want in your team. He is cool calm and collective and knows his stuff when it comes to emergencies. To see him in action and taking control of an emergency situation is just fantastic.
During his 20 years volunteering with NSRI as Coxswain at Melkbosstrand’s station 18, Andre has dealt with many rescues, emergencies and medial traumas and illnesses. He was also the former Station Commander at Air Sea and Rescue Station 29, based at AFB Ysterplaat doing casualty evacuations of Shipping/Aircraft incidents using Helicopter platforms as rescue swimmers. He is also a hoist and external load operator at the Red Cross AMS Rescue Helicopter based at CTI Airport. Andre holds the following medical qualifications; Basic Life Support Technician and registered with the Health Professionals Council of SA (HPCSA) as a BAA registration number #BAA 0720348, Resuscitation Council of SA registered BLS Healthcare Provider Reg no # JS13/023.
Andre’s love for medical rescues and adventure biking makes him the perfect medical official for the WAVOLT team giving our riders peace of mind that they are in good hands should something go wrong.
